Senior year schedule:
AP Macroeconomics
Anatomy
AP Calculus
English
Government
PE

It looks like my mid-year report is going to be a 3.9 at the lowest.

Extracurriculars: Biotech project placed ninth at TSA Nationals (studied the usage of algae as a food and as a fuel), Designed a Flow Cytometer and we plan to create a biofuel this year, Varsity Swim team 4 years and captain 2 years, Secretary of STEM Club, Secretary of Tutor Club, and participated on an iGem team junior year

Recommendations: I sent 2 recs and they are very good.

Thanks!

How would it affect my chances if I were to drop anatomy second semester?

Academically, you look pretty good for USC, your ACT is around that mark but your low Reading grade may work against you. However, in terms of extra curricular activities, I think your not so good looking for that. USC looks for incredibly well rounded students and is very competitive (don’t think I need to tell you that). There are many students who have a lot more extracurriculars. Don’t be disheartened though! I think USC is still around the high match to match region for you. Good luck!

He has extracurriculars that matter; two really solid ones, and that’s the important thing. He doesn’t overinflate his ECs like most CC kids do.

I would be surprised if you do not get in to USC.

Seeing that your senior class schedule (in terms of difficulty) is not a huge step up, I’d say it’s vital that you get good grades as USC will want to see continued improvement, and a harder curriculum.
