I’m applying for USC in the fall and I’m wondering how good my chances are.
Stats:
GPA: 4.0 UW
Rank: 1st out of 20
AP: I go to a small town school in Oklahoma and APs aren’t offered
I’ve taken every Math and science offered at my school and in August I start college math and science. I am wanting to major in Accounting. I am low income (28,000 a year) and my area is very poverty stricken and not too bright. The average ACT is 16.
My ACT score: 36
Extra Curriculars :
Captain of Academic Team
5 years of ReLay for Life fundraising and team-managing
Hand crocheted and donated over 400 hats to local charities, including the battered women’s shelter, the retirement home, and the local foster homes
Over 70 hours of Angel Tree work (the wrapping and delivery of gifts to the poor in my area for Christmas)
FCCLA work
Secretary of my class
Head of the prom committee
Editor of the yearbook
I have over 1,000 hours of committee service and have been involved in each of my extra curriculars for over 4 years
Hooks: single parent (my father passed away from suicide 2 years ago), very low income, distant state, female, good test scores, excellent letters of recommendation, excellent college essay
Still the best info on chances:
Wow–36 ACT? I don’t see that often! Did you do the PSAT? It seems like you could be national merit scholar level.
