Bumpppppppppppppp

I mean you said you’re going to get a 33 or better on the ACT, so that’s basically a yes for every single one of them except UT (probably a yes for UT). Here’s what it boils down to:

Trinity is not hard to get into. You’re set for that one.
Baylor is hardish to get into. You’re still set.
Texas A&M is hard (I’m applying there this summer), but if you’re top 10% of class or 25% and 30 ACT you’re in, so you’re fine.
UT might be a little tougher, but from what you’ve got listed it sounds like you’re set.

Only thing I would say is work on that class rank.

Mind chancing me for Texas A&M?

Class rank: 43/511 (top 8%)
GPA: 5.13 out of 5 weighted
ACT: Took it my sophomore year and got a 26. Taking it this weekend, shooting for a 28.
Ice Hockey all years
Have a job
English NHS (still pending application to regular NHS)
Environmental-Club (taken several leadership roles while in the club)
Was a Teacher’s Assistant Sophomore Year
Received a school award junior year
Some volunteer hours (will be getting a lot more this summer)
Civil Air Patrol (United States Air Force Auxiliary)
I am planning on joining the Corps of Cadets
Have been on an official Texas A&M campus visit
Out of state

Like I said, I think my chances are pretty solid. Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Dark - In state Texas - There is a top 10% rule for automatic admission to A&M and top 8% for UT. UT does not consider anything else to admit you other than being in top 8%.

A&M on the other hand goes further out than 10% because a larger percentage are taken up by UT. So nothing else matters to you for an automatic admission in Texas than your class rank.

Baylor and Trinity OTOH, your race may be considered for admission along with how well you do. UTD will admit you automatically if you score 1800 on SAT. Your class rank does nt seem to correlate well with a 2300 score in my opinion.

You should look into Harvard and Princeton…

sergeant cowboy - I am sure you can get into A&M. The only issue is they have locked the number for out of state at 1200 or something while UT is admitting a lot more out of state and international students to get more money and also keep a better profile. UT is at 25% out of state/international and so you stand a good chance (2500 seats?)
