Look at the stats for 2012.
[2012 SAT/ACT Scores | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/whyut/profile/scores)

It looks like UT is a reach. How much of a reach depends a lot on your intended major.

Check out TAMU Academic Auto Admit - if your CR + M = 1300 with at least 600 in each of these subsections you’ll have one admission wrapped up.

jamcafe if it said that the average sat was an 1841 and i got an 1890 why would it be a reach? and yah i got a 630 in each section of the sat so a&m is an auto admit for me! its so relieving to have that out of the way.

It is a reach because of both your class rank and GPA. Because UT *********s the top 7% of each class now it is rare for someone out of that percentile to gain admittance. Everything else would have to be great including a much higher SAT, GPA, and at least a 30 ACT.

not sure why it was asterisked out…but I said auto-admits.

ugh i hate the top 7% rule so much //:

Also being a transfer student isn’t all that bad… I just got into CS as a transfer with a 3.91GPA. If you use rate my professors and get the best teachers and try you can get 30 hours with all A’s easily.

More relevant the avg SAT for nonauto admits is 1902. Sorry 1841 is for auto admits. :(

Send in your application to TAMU as soon as possible because majors do fill up there too.

jamcafe do you know when the official applications open up for tamu?

I think AUG 1, 2013
Call TAMU to confirm. You are a prospective Aggie. ;)
