Chance me for UT Austin?

I don't have much extracurricular activities. If I calculated it right, I have 3.8 UW gpa and 4.15 weighted gpa (have to add in 2 more classes I got A's in this summer) . I'm sure I can get nearly all A's for the next 7 AP classes I'm taking next semester. I have a 2080SAT score (700 math). I'm positive I can get around 2200 (got 800 in math for every practice test I've taken this summer) and possibly 2300. I have about 150 volunteer hours. I had 2 jobs, one as a Kumon tutor and one as a teacher for my neighbor's child who spoke only Chinese. I joined clubs in high school but I rarely attended them because I thought education came first. I played piano on and off for my whole life, was in chess club, piano club, etc... but I don't know if promulgating them is necessary. My dilemma emerged when I started doing college applications. I don't know what I should write about. The essay asks me to write about how my current and future academic or extracurricular activities relate to/affect my goals. At the moment, I'm on the verge of writing something related to my Chinese experience.

An unusual story: during my first semester of sophomore year I went to China because of family issues and I'm not sure to take this fact as a good thing or bad thing. I can note in my application that I had trouble with taking 5.0 classes--either online or at the school-- which made my gpa low. (Can you imagine how much 7 Honor classes would cost online?; So, I took online classes while my peers listened to a teacher all in the same environment) When I came back the 2nd semester, I was unprepared to take Honors classes, and therefore my counselor and I decided I would take regular classes-- except chemistry and algebra, since I self-studied those. I have more details that I can clarify and I can tell you them if you'd like me to. I can also note that my immersion in China made me more fluent in Chinese than it would have in any other environment.

I want to go into engineering, particularly chemical engineering. I don't know if I want to minor in business since I don't know much about how this choice would affect me.

Give me some advice on how I could get into UT.

Question: I have taken 4 AP's (mostly 5's) so far and will be taking 11 or 9 (micro and gov, Physics C mechanics and E&M could be counted as 1 or 2 each) next year.(some I just decided to put off on taking until next year) How will they look upon my only 4 AP scores?

Are you OOS or in state? If you are in-state and can get your SAT to 2200+, and your rank is around the top 10% mark 15-1%, then I would say you have a pretty good chance of getting in. If your out of state, I would say your chances are pretty slim. If your a foreigner, your chances are close to none.

I’m not in top 10. I don’t think top 15 even. I don’t know what top 25% looks like but I worry about that too. I’m in state.
