Also, I was diagnosed with mono during junior year that resulted in an absence of 21 days. The sickness kicked me out of the top 15% of my class to my current rank and ruined my junior year grades. In one letter of recommendation, my guidance counselor explains the situation. Since that incident I have maintained a 97 GPA throughout senior year. Will this have any affect on UT admissions process?

I know that UT is highly selective, and class rank is perhaps one of the most important factors in acceptance. Because of my poor class rank, what are some ways to make other parts of my application stand out? Also, what majors in UT are easiest to get into? Finally, can I get into my second choice (Texas A&M)?
