<p>What are my chances for getting in to UT BHP? Plus, is there any sort of advantage to applying before the priority deadline (Oct. 15), aside from hearing back sooner?</p>

<p>Uh, yeah, you’re definitely in at UT & TAMU. Plus, TAMU loves National Merit kids. </p>

<p>Rice and Duke are less predictable; I know a NMF rejected from Duke and a NMSF rejected from Rice (both of which had impeccable stats in other regards).</p>

<p>Assuming you’re being serious about your SAT, I’d say you have a good shot at all your choices. UT puts a lot of emphasis on rank, but you’d be fine.</p>

<p>I’m not very familiar with Duke / Rice admissions.</p>

<p>You will get into UT, but do not count on getting into BHP. They have plenty of high test scorers, and they put a big emphasis on rank and leadership. You’re SAT score helps, but your rank doesn’t…</p>
