Hi if you could chance me that would be greatly appreciated!!

Currently a sophomore, attended Community for 3 semester and transferred to UTSA SPRING 2016. I’m wanting to transfer to UTD for FALL 2016 and was wondering what my chances are and also some guidance tips.

Major: Information System

48 Credits Earned From Community/ 36 credits were able to transferred
Cumulative GPA of 2.750

12 Credits Earned From UTSA (currently enrolled)
Estimate Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher

The reason of transfer: I went to attend UTSA because I believed it was more convenient because it’s close by home and I had a lot of friends here, but i then realize i’m miserable here because all i do is homework. I don’t really have a social life and It’s becoming depressing. Some of my reasons to transfer is to attend a better school and also improve my college experience. I know I’ll enjoy the UTD more socially, but in your own opinion is it the right reason to transfer?

I’d say 50/50. but I’m not too sure why you would think that you would enjoy UTD more socially. At UTD, it’s up to you to take charge to have a good social life.

Well I’ve spent a whole semester at UTSA trying to integrate myself in to organizations and etc. but they’re not as welcoming compared to when i met UTD students and I already have a established friend group if i do decide to transfer.

Ah… well, since you already have friends at UTD, then I will assume that your statement of UTD being better for you is correct.

Regarding your chances of getting in, what is your GPA for transferable credits (2.7 minimum required).

I listed both GPA’s in my original post

so what’s the cumulative gpa of transferable credits, i.e. the 36 from CC and the 12 from UTSA? one could assume that the gpa for the 36 from CC is the same as the 48 from CC, but the range is wide.
