Keep up the good work. You are on target for the vast majority of your schools. I would suggest that Vanderbilt and Georgetown may present some challenges for you, but not because of your resume, simply as a result of the over abundance of qualified candidates and the resulting “randomness” of the admissions process at the very elite schools. Your writing focus will give you another leg up - so with a few killer essay responses you will be a solid candidate for any of these schools.

I would say you are very good candidate, but I do not agree with hinsdale1 about Vandy and Georgetown. It seems people tend to think just because of a rise in applications means a “randomness” in the admissions process as you say hinsdale. Even though they have many applicants, they look closely at everyone and accept the best people to go to their schools.

And blbr, I would say you have a very good shot at them all. UNC is a great school(considered to be one of the public ivies), and its in-state acceptance rate is around 50%, so you have a really good shot at that.

^ If I was arguing that it was random, I would not have used quotes. I was using the “randomness” term in reference to the disparate outcomes from elite school adcoms that can be difficult to comprehend based on simply the objective data provided by the applicant in their post mortem.

thank you both so much for your honesty, I truly appreciate it. :)
