<p>I just got accepted into another school last week so I'm only applying to UVA and W&M at this point</p>

<p>(northern) Virginia
White Male
Large public high school
Desired major: Classics/Classical Studies (really pushed this in essays)</p>

<p>IB Diploma Candidate</p>

<p>GPA: UW: 3.7 , W: 3.9
SAT: 1400/1600, 2090/2400 (750 CR, 650 M, 690 W)
SAT IIs: World Hist: 770, US Hist: 680</p>

<p>ECs:
Just over a hundred hours of community service
Latin Club (member 4 years, president senior year)
Varsity Rifle Team (member 4 years, captain junior and senior years)
It's Academic Team (a quizbowl sorta thing), member 4 years</p>

<p>Hey! We’ve got a similar background, both Northern Virginia (and both it’s academic, haha). Anyway:</p>

<p>UVA’s a little iffy I think. You could get in, but i think it’s a high match/low reach</p>

<p>W&M I like your chances. A few people got in ED at my school and they weren’t as qualified as you. I’d say maybe a high match.</p>

<p>You should apply to washington and lee maybe? Not Tech since you like humanities…good luck though.</p>

<p>I think you’ve got a really good chance at both. Your intended major is unique, which probably makes you stand out more to them. It’s not everyday they get a Classics major who is president of the Latin club. Your SAT scores are good and you’re in state, which will help a lot. I think UVA is more likely to accept you than W&M, but only because of its size. Do you have a preference whether you go to a liberal arts college or a large public university?</p>

Out of the two, I really don’t mind. My first choice would be the large public: Uva. I’m pretty adaptable though and I’m sure I’d love it at the small public too :)</p>

<p>UVirginia- easy in
W&M- probably but not as numbers based.</p>

<p>Go visit both. Very different schools. Figure out which one is a better fit.</p>
