<p>Now that my Common App is in and as I await my decisions, I just want to ask one last time what chances are at these schools because I'm getting a little anxious. haha </p>

<p>Here's my basic resume:</p>

<p>Gender: Male
Race: Caucasian
Unweighted GPA: 3.928
Best Composite ACT: 30
Best Composite SAT: 1900
School Type: Magnet School
School Size: About 240
Class Size: About 50
Class Rank: Our school eliminated class rank besides the top 10, and we don't find out until the spring, but I would gauge that I'm in the top 15-20%.</p>

<p>25 Honors/AP/Dual Enrollment Classes out of all 32 classes that I've taken.
-Made a 4 on the AP European History Exam (Junior Year)
-Taking AP Literature right now and expect a 4 or 5
President of Government Club (held since Junior Year)
Floor Leader of Government Club (Sophomore Year)
Founder and President of The Flock (Student Cheer Organization)
Represented my school at Boys State (1 of 2 people)
-Elected State Representative at Boys State (Summer 2011)

<p>I held a job as a dishwasher at a restaurant from June 2010-June 2011 and was let go because the restaurant closed down.
From July 2011-October 2011, I worked for an online business by doing inventory and helping market the company's products on Amazon.com as well as their own website. It was a temporary position, and I was let go when all of the products had been uploaded.</p>

<p>Senior Schedule</p>

<p>1st Semester (AP Literature, Creative Writing, Latin I Honors, Ecology Honors) (Got all A's in these classes)</p>

<p>2nd Semester (AP Literature, Dual Enrollment Statistics, Dual Enrollment Psychology, Chinese I Honors)</p>

<p>Other random things:</p>

<p>1) I was voted Most Talented in my grade.
2) I'm my school's student announcer for a daily news segment that we air on TV.
3) I proposed the idea for a Film Festival at our school which was put into action this year and raised about $600.</p>

<p>Essays</p>

<p>I don't have a problem with writing essays. It's probably my biggest strength. My English teacher looked over them for me and said that I answered the questions very well and wrote it in an interesting way so I don't think my essays will harm me.</p>

<p>Also my school only offers 5 AP courses of which I’ve taken 2. It also only started offering AP classes to my grade in my Junior Year. Everything else I’ve done has been DE and Honors with the exception of a few electives and Wellness which is mandatory.</p>

<p>SAT/ACT score might hurt you for UChicago unless your essays are extremely stellar. UVA might be a low reach because of SAT/ACT score but the GPA’s good. I’m not sure about NYU. Your EC’s are great. :slight_smile: </p>

<p>Your Test scores could be a little higher. You have really strong EC’s and course rigor so you have a really strong chance at all of them. Chance me please?</p>

<p>NYU, You have a chance there. My older sister got accepted to NYU Class of 2014. With a 2100 SAT and 3.8 GPA Weighted [4.6 unweighted]</p>

<p>What’s your state of residence? if you’re instate you have a good chance for Uva, if you’re OOs, not as likely. UChicago is a reach. NYU looks good.</p>

<p>Sadly I am OOS so I realize that my chances are diminished a bit. I did read that UVA’s OOS acceptance rate went up a little last year so I’m holding on to that fact for some hope. haha
I’m really hoping that my essays pull through, and I’m hoping that my participation at Boys State will give some significant padding to my application (I live in Tennessee which has the #1 Boys State program in the U.S. so I’m hoping that also has some small effect on my app as well.).
It’s also sad that they don’t do interviews because I feel like that might help my chances. Not much else I can do at this point except wish. haha</p>
