Chance me for UVA/William & Mary?

Hi everyone! I'm a senior this year and I am preparing to apply for colleges within the next month or so. UVA is my top choice and William & Mary is my second choice. Although both colleges are very nice, I really enjoyed UVA's environment.

Anyway, this is my information:

-In-state Resident
-Magnet High School
-3.87 cumulative GPA
-4.54 (maybe slightly higher) weighted GPA
-1940 on my SAT (still taking it again, along with the ACT). I got a 590 on reading, 660 on math, and 700 on writing.
-Member of cross country/track for since my sophomore year. I plan on finishing the year up with them too.
-I got an interview at William & Mary, which I thought went pretty well, and I got an interview with an alumni from UVA that went well too (I think).
-Member of NHS
-Member of Mu Alpha Theta
-To-be member of French Honor Society
-159 SSL Hours
-I think that the teachers I am asking for recommendations will write very well of me.
-(lastly) AP credits:
AP NSL - 3 - Taken my sophomore year
AP Lang - 5 - Taken my junior year
AP World - 4 - Taken my junior year
AP Psych - 4 - Taken my junior year

For my senior year, my APs are as follows:

AP Macro/Micro Econ (two different exams)
AP BC Calculus
AP Environmental Science
AP Lit
^^ 6 AP scores if you count the sub-score for AB Calculus.

-I got straight As in my middle-school high school course (French & Algebra)
-Straight As both semesters freshman year
-Straight As one semester sophomore year, 2 Bs the other semester (AP NSL & Honors English 10A)
-Straight As one semester junior year, 4 Bs the other semester (AP Psych A, AP Lang A, French 4A Honors, Environmental Physics A Honors)
-aand now it's senior year, which I am hoping will continue to go well.

It would mean a lot to me if any of you could tell me what you think my chances of being accepted into either university would be. Thank you :)

bumppppppp

bump please

Get that SAT up and you should be fine for both. Just don’t slip this semester.

Haha yeah, I’m going to make sure I don’t. Thank you!

I think you have a good chance. Do you live in NoVA? because the I heard the competition is harder here. Dunno though but you have a better chance at UVA than me in terms of GPA and EC’s. What is your ranking?

You know, my counselor told me I was in the top 10%, but in terms of an exact number I’m not completely sure (he didn’t have that information). I’m pretty sure I live in the NoVA area. I’m just glad I’m applying with in-state going for me :)

bumpppppppppppp

bump please

If you live in NOVA, there’s a cap on the amount of students from there who can go to UVA so must people from there who get in have 2250+ SATs and superb scores.

Even in NOVA? That’s what I thought you’d need for OOS, but isn’t that a little high for in-state? Either way, thanks for your response! I’m hoping my next SAT goes up a considerable amount.

bump please

bump please

Get that SAT to 2100+ and you’ll be in good standing.

This is incorrect.

Your chances are good. Just get your SAT up.

Thanks guys for the input! With any luck I’ll be able to. And thank you Dean J for clearing that up.

From what I’ve heard/read you seem to fit the profile, and lucky you, you’re in-state.

In at UVirginia. W&M tries to build a class so not as predictable. Should be a match though. W&M looks at grades/difficulty of classes more than standardized tests. Two very different schools.

You should be fine! Also there is an admissions officer on the W&M page who will “chance” you! Good luck!
