Chance me for UVA/William & Mary?

Hi everyone! If you could chance me for UVA and William & Mary it would mean a lot :)

Anyway, this is my information:

-Magnet High School Student
-3.87 cumulative GPA
-4.59 or 4.57 (I forget which one) weighted GPA

-Member of cross country/indoor track/outdoor track since my sophomore year. I plan on finishing the year up with them too.
-I got an interview at William & Mary, which I thought went pretty well, and I got an interview with an alumni from UVA that went well too (I think).
-Member of NHS
-Member of Mu Alpha Theta
-To-be member of French Honor Society

-I got straight As in my middle-school high school course (French & Algebra)
-Straight As both semesters freshman year
-Straight As one semester sophomore year, 2 Bs the other semester (AP NSL & Honors English 10A)
-Straight As one semester junior year, 4 Bs the other semester (AP Psych A, AP Lang A, French 4A Honors, Environmental Physics A Honors)
-aand now it's senior year, which I am hoping will continue to go well.

It would mean a lot to me if any of you could tell me what you think my chances of being accepted into either university would be. Thank you :)

I suppose it’s a little late to discuss potential improvements, but I’d love to comfort those nerves. Your GPA is certainly up to par for both universities, I wouldn’t worry too much about second semester junior year. Your SAT is a little below midrange, but it’s certainly competitive. EC’s are what I’m most worried about - honor societies aren’t viewed very highly in the grand scheme of outreach, and while being a consistent member of track is great, it doesn’t really set you apart to admissions officers. Best of luck! I’ve applied to both schools as well, and April 1st can’t come soon enough (or perhaps it can.) :)

Ahh I know I’m so worried/anxious too  I tried re-taking my SAT twice, but I just couldn’t reach the 2000 mark. Do you think the ACT makes up for that at all? I’m pretty sure it’s consistent with my SAT score, but I was just wondering. Do you know what effect being in-state has on applying to the two? Either way, good luck to you too!

Oh oops, I probably could have written that better. I had 4 B’s the first semester of my junior year and all A’s the next (if it’s important).

Does your HS or school system track and provide records of GPA, SAT/ACT, and admission decisions? I know the NoVA school systems and HS do, this would give you a better local & historical perspective, although both UVA & W&M seem to get slightly more competitive each year (as have ALL the Virginia publics). Dean J has posted some statistics (headcount and overal admit rates so far) for the Early Action pool in the main UVA forum and on her blog. Good luck!

Thank you! I’ll go check those out!

Bump please… I’d love to hear more peoples’ thoughts.

Late night bump :)

Bump please.

Bump please. I would really appreciate some input :)

You have a great chance. I was just admitted to uva with a higher sat but a much lower gpa. those schools will also love to see that you went to a magnet school. however william and mary has been really weird this year. several of my very qualified classmates were deferred. it may hinge on your essays. best of luck!!

Thank you! I’m hoping my essays were good for them, but I’ll see I guess :)

I say you’re in bro! I know people with lower stats who got in.
Soo
Goodluck!!

That’s good to know!
Thanks!

Any other opinions? :)
