I have applied to UW- Madison and UofM-Twin Cities
Gpa: 3.3 uw ugh.. I know(many extenuating circumstances, mother paralyzed in car accident freshman year and father had a heart attack my sophomore year)
AP: Apush and Ap Lit
Act:26
EC's: Every theater production, Hispanic Community Project officer, Gay-Straight Alliance, Vocal Jazz Group, State Solo Ensemble, Varsity Soccer

The truth about UW is they look at GPA, class rigor and test scores first. So my fear is you get cut without your whole ap being considered. IF that happens I would appeal, hopefully you have a great upward tend over the four years and your senior year to help balance the GPA.

Honestly I would say high match for both. Your GPA will really hurt you at UW, because they put a lot of importance on grades and rigor. Your ACT is at the bottom of UW’s and UMN’s.
You should try and get your GPA up a bit, an upward trend always is appreciated.
Also, if retaking the ACT is possible I would advise doing so. At least a 27 would really help you out, and make up for your GPA.
Good luck!

Oh, I am from Minnesota and I know a decent amount of students accepted to UMN with a sub-3.5 gpa!
