GPA- 3.41
Curriculum- International Baccalaureate (Math HL, Physics HL, Chem HL, CS SL, English SL, French SL)
EC’s- World Scholar’s Cup Regional and Global round (Total of 13 medals for debate, writing, and quiz). Beamline for Schools Physics competition, Community and service hours (stalls and clean up drives), Elected to the school prefect body, Organized a pool tournament in school.
Recommendations- By math teacher and another one by my debate coach.
Honor’s- ICE Distinction Award (Cambridge IGCSE) (3A* 7A)
Is that your take on GPA? By some kind of translation? What are your predicted IBD scores?
You are happy to be full pay? That is the biggest question IMO. Your stats are fine.
That’s the GPA I’m getting on a scale of 4 from my exam office. Its official. My IBD predicted is 37
Your GPA is on the low side for Purdue engineering. Make sure you apply EA for Purdue as they fill most of their engineering spots then and if you wait until RD there is a good chance of rejection.
I think you should not translate your GPA on apps, right, you report as your school grades you as per IBD grading.

I am an international student hoping to study at purdue for computer Engineering. What chances do I have considering the following profile.
SAT 1: 1420 ( RW: 660; MATH: 760)
SAT 2 PHYISCS: 730 but not needed for Purdue
GPA: 4/4 for all 3 years of coursework (12th grade results won’t be out before application deadline)
EC:
- Lead Guitarist of the school rock band performing at National Competitions for 2 years, finishing 1st and 3rd respectively. Also performed at an even that had schools from foreign countries.
- Leader of the school Cricket team, the most competitive sport of my city. finished a close second from a pool of around 75 teams. Also won 3 trophies in different competitions.
- Designed a motion detection rover for disaster and calamities/ security . Won the best project prize at school’s biennial science exhibition. Designing included experience with circuits and coding.
- Volunteer work of over 60 hours by being part of school’s social service club and also on a personal level, providing meals for underprivileged every 6 months.
- Also participated in olympiads and other national competition. Won a gold medal at National Cyber Olympiad but way back in 2013.
- Learnt to code in QBasic, C++, Visual Basic, Arduino IDE. Also have my own blog talking about technology.
