Hey. I was Just wondering if anyone would chance me for Vanderbilt or NCSU. I know my test scores are lower than these schools, but i am retaking them this saturday. my act composite is a 23 ( yes i know that is very low) i have a 4.0 gpa, ranked number 3out of 125 kids, beta club, marshall, ive been in band for 6 years, captain of the saxaphone section, captain of the golf team, stage manager, i volunteer with mission trips with my church, i have only taken honors and ap classes. I am the leader of FCA, and have been on the tennis team for two years. i have recived national awards for history. i was selected to go to Govenors School, i have attened the National Leadership Convention in DC. i know that i am all over everywhere, but i was hesitant about doing it. Vanderbilt is my dream school, and i think everything else is great besides my test scores (which i Hope to be bring up) also what would be the minimal score i would need to look good. Thank you so much!!!!!

I mean getting into Vandy is pretty difficult. You need AT LEAST a 32 to get in. And many people who got accepted all had like 34 ACT scores. And only 14% got accepted in 2012… So unless you dramatically bring up that ACT score, it will be hard for you to get in. Also, Vandy is very tough and extremely selective. But if you can just increase your ACT score, then you have a decent chance at getting in I guess. Not so sure for NCST, but it should be a bit easier to get in there than to get in at Vanderbilt. Good luck!

As a reach school you should look at Wake Forest, it has similarities to Vanderbilt and the school is SAT-optional.
