You have a good chance, and your legacy status will certainly help you. However, much of the decision process is subjective, so I cannot accurately give you a definite answer. If your essays are great, your chances should be higher than the average applicant*. Hopefully this helps! :slight_smile:

(Your GPA will be your weak area. The upward trend might help you, however.)

@azwu331 thanks for the input!

I’d say that it’s quite a reach considering your GPA. Your EC’s are pretty good though so you never know but honestly i’d be surprised if you got in. Best of luck!

Although you have a lot going for you, your gpa might break your application. Admissions is a holistc process so you have hope (+ legacy) however a 3.7 w means you have anywhere from a 3.3-3.5 uw which is really low.

bump

I’ve applied Vandy EDII as well. Your stats look competitive but I’m with everyone else in saying that your GPA is your weakness. In saying that, you must remember that often exam scores hold more weight than GPA’s, so if you’ve done as well as you say on standardized test and AP exams you should have a fair shot. This is what I love about Vanderbilt and the unpredictability. You have a below average GPA, and mine is a unweighted 4.2 weighted 4.67. You have an average ACT, and mine is lower than their 50th percentile at a 30. You have a below average number of volunteer hours, and I have well over 1500. We both have strengths in EC’s and leadership. You’re a double legacy white male, and I’m a first generation URM. Really puts things in perspective. Best of luck, and I hope to see you at orientation.
