Senior. 4.0 GPA, valedictorian of my class of 210 at a small-town public school.
I play the flute, and made Mid-State Bronze band sophomore year and Silver junior year. I have been the flute section leader since I was a sophomore, and junior year I was also the woodwind lieutenant. This year I am the band captain in addition to being the section leader.
Sophomore year I was accepted into and completed this leadership program called "Leadership Overton" that accepted 20 people from my class. I am also a member (secretary) of the Tri-M Society, but I only joined it my junior year. We volunteer at the breast cancer walk each year and have started a recycling program in my school, which I helped to continue with the help of teachers who came in over the summer to work. Freshman and Sophomore years I was involved in community service through the Interact Club. I am a member of the math team this year, but have been competing in the TTU math contest since I was a freshman. My freshman year I got 9th place in Algebra I, but I have not made the top 10 since then. I was also a member of the Academic Bowl Team my freshman year. However, my ACT score is just a lousy 31. Do I still have a chance at getting accepted into Vanderbilt? If so, do I have any potential for scholarships?

I think you can get into Vandy! Good luck with it! I hope you get in! Are you applying ED?

I don’t know what ED means.

ED is early decision
