Note: some people have said my ECs are bland or weak. I'm from a very small town with few opportunities and I've taken advantage of literally every opportunity my school, community, and state has offered me. I'm applying to Vandy RD but I really want to go here!

You are an absolute shoe-in at Vanderbilt. To be frank, I think you’re even too good for Vanderbilt. Your credentials alone tell me that you’d even be a competitive applicant at Ivy League schools. The world is at your disposal.

Honestly, I’m jealous. I was only commended by the National Merit corporation.

While youre credentials are really good, I wouldn’t say you are a shoe-in at Vandy because I don’t think anyone is really a shoe-in for Vandy. When I talked to an admissions counselor, she said they rejected kids this year that would have been accepted 3 years ago no questions asked. its gotten way more competitive, so no one can really tell you if you’ll get in, especially random people on here. Just work really hard and do your best to stand out. good luck!

Thank you both for your honesty :)

i’d say you’re in as well. that’s just an educated guess and i’m certainly no expert, but your stats and ecs are very strong and will be praised by the vandy admissions office. i think you should also apply for the merit scholarships there…they offer really good money if you get them (free tuition!). and even if you aren’t given a scholarship, you can still be admitted to the college so it can really only help you. best of luck!

I think you have a really good chance! Your ECs are not weak, they are excellent, you can only do some much lol =)

I’m in the same boat (chance mine?).
