Hey everybody just wondering about my chances at Wake Forest and University of Richmond! I'm from upstate NY and go to a top 100 ranked high school in the country. My stats are:
1980 SAT (660 CR 660 M 660 Writing) and I'm taking the ACT next week

3.7 unweighted GPA with 5 APs

Numerous ECs in volunteer work, I have a job at the minor leAgue baseball stadium in my city, I write for the school newspaper, played football for 6 years (team captain), do hw Helpers club, a charity club, worked as a camp counselor, etc.

I'm probably gonna major in Accounting or finance so Id want to be in the business schools At these universities

Basically I want to know how my chances are/ what I should improve to get in. Also if accepted, will I get alot of financial aid. Thanks! I'll chance Anyone back if you post your thread in the reply

Great chances man! Your sat score could be retaken to raise it but your stats are fantastical and ecs dont hurt either! Good luck!

My friend got into both schools and his avg was a 91 and he was ranked 40/157. His SATs were in the 2100s. But his brother and dad went to Richmond. I think you have a fair shot! Remember it’s not all about the grades and tests! Make sure you have great essays. Some people had much better credentials than I did but I had really great essays and I got into University of Michigan…while they got wailisted. I also got into Richmond and I had a 93 for 3 years (slacked off senior year) but similar SATs. Best of luck!!

The most important thing in admissions for both schools, I’d say your SAT is fine as it is for being admitted one of the less important factors at UR, not important at Wake Forest. If you do better on the ACT, all the better, but I’d say your SAT I’s are fine if you want to take them again, it won’t hurt of course. As for GPA, both schools stress the importance of this alongside the rigor of coursework. Going to a top-notch high school, taking 5 APs (is this above/below average at your school?), I’d say you have the rigor, and a GPA that’s not too shabby! Your ECs seem good, and you have a long-term job that should help you with business school, I imagine. To be fair, I know nothing about the business programs at these schools, but I’d say you’re on the right track to getting into both I don’t know about FA for these schools I’d say that has most to do with your financial situation. I would look at the CollegeBoard calculators for an idea of your financial aid: [Richmond & Wake Forest](<a href=“Net Price Calculator”>Net Price Calculator)
I hope this proves helpful! :)

Can you [chance me for a few LACs?](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1320007-chances-lacs.html)

Ok cool thanks for the input Rezip and Babbitt!

I think that you have a great chance at URichmond. My friend got in last year and she had roughly the same stats. You would also have a good chance at Wake Forest too. There SATs may be a littler higher but based off of your other stats you stand a strong chance. Chance me back please!!! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1322177-chance-me-please.html

Thanks runner2411 I’ll chance you back right now!

Wake Forest honestly weighs your grades/SATs on the lower end. They want to know what kind of a person you are (hence their SUPER LONG SUPPLEMENT!!!). Also, if you decide to apply to Wake ED, the chanes you’ll get in= 70%. My brother goes there, and he LOVES that college… he chose it over Wash U, Berkeley, USC, UCLA, and Vanderbilt. Wake is a great school, and it’s super diverse, chill, and liberal… You have a really good shot, seeing as my brother had a similar GPA (But he had a 35 on his ACTs)(and his ECs were super unique), but honestly, he got into Wake by a LONG SHOT… they offered him a ton of money, and he has a 4.0 at Wake… if you early though, I’m PRETTY sure that you’ll get in, unless you’re super uninteresting as a person…

Chance me?

Thanks iamnotok hopefully I’m not too boring for them haha I think I’ll be good in that aspect! I’ll do yours right now

Yep, take your time on those supplements, because they really care about them… Honestly though, my bro had 4 APs before senior year (8 at the end), so with 5 currently, you should be fine… AND DUDE IS IT JUST ME OR WAS THAT ACT A LOT HARDER THAN I EXPECTED IT TO BE? Jerz, I was aiming for a 36 so that I wouldn’t have to take my SAT IIs in May and just submit my ACT score in lieu of both SATs, but I ****ed up and cancelled my score… I guess I’m just gonna submit my SAT Is and take the IIs in May… LOLOL… I felt sooo rushed -___-

yeah it was pretty hard but I think I got a 31-32 at least, I hated the pace we had to go at I had like 2 minutes for the last 10 questions in the writing haha. Wow that sucks though you really had to cancel your score? Sorry about that man that blows

Eh, I exaggerated that lol, heat of the moment+some frustration piled up… Yea I got around that too haha 31-33 ish, but I got in the 2300s for my SAT Is on my first take, so I’m just gonna stick w/ those SATs… The ACT is way too fast paced for me, and my proctor sucked -___-
