I previously applied early decision, however I was deferred to regular decision. I was just wondering if anyone would be able to let me know what they think my chance of being admitted is:
-Senior from an all girls catholic school in Louisiana
-GPA: 4.92 (UW)
-ACT: 28 (I did not send it in for ED, but my counselor told me to send it in now)
-AP: 5 classes by the time I graduate (my school offers 7… I am also an AP scholar)
-President of National Honor Society (I was secretary junior year)
-Member of Math/ English/ Science/ Social Studies Honor Societies
-Service Coordinator of Foreign Language Club
-Student Minister (the “role models” of the school)
-Member of Color Guard
-I was on a competitive cheer team for 10 years
-I coached a cheer team for 4 years
-I had a great interview and I toured
-2 strong recommendations
Any insight will help (or advice about what to do when deferred)! Thank you very much!!
I totally meant 3.92 unweighted sorry!!!
Dont send in ACT. Did you visit and interview?
@scavengerscoo, the 4 common factors of admitted Wake students I have noticed are: high GPA, top 10% or higher class rank, good Interview and the applicant shows interest in Wake (other than just applying).
Last year 89% of Wake’s admitted class were in the top 10% of their high school class. Most, but not all
interviewed with Wake and demonstrated interest in Wake (usually by taking a tour of the campus).
None of us can tell you your true chances of getting admitted to Wake; we can only point out factors we think you should be aware of and you can take it from there. You are doing great work. Keep those A’s coming and hopefully your class rank will climb along with your GPA. Good luck in your search for a college and I hope you get that special Black envelope from Wake.
@scavengerscoo From what I’ve heard, 30 is the cutoff as far as sending ACT scores. I think a 28 will only hurt you so don’t send it (it’s not a bad score, just below what wake usually admits). I am not sure at this point if you could retake and send or whether there is much else to do besides wait. Your stats are good and you still have a chance. Either way, congratulations on your achievements thus far and good luck wherever you end up going
