I applied kindof late in the game so I wasn’t able to schedule an interview, so idk if that hurts my chances

Applied Regular Decision

White Female, Washington state

Go to a pretty competitive public school with good IB program

We don’t weight GPA or have class rank

I am a Full IB Diploma Student, (6 IB classes both Junior and Senior Year)
IB Physics (2 years)
IB Calculus (1 and 2)
IB Sports Exercise Health Science
IB English (2 years)
IB History (2 years)
IB Theory of Knowledge (IB requirement)
IB German (I’m now in 400)

32 on ACT (not great but hopefully good enough)
3.88 GPA

Activities:
10 year girl scout
6 years in band / marching band playing french horn
4 years JV XC, Captain Senior year
VP of Guild Benefiting a local children’s hospital
1 summer volunteered at summer camp for special needs kids

I don’t have any real hooks, I wrote in my essays about what having a brother with special needs has taught me, but nothing that stands out too much. I didn’t visit campus until after I submitted my application, so I didn’t know how much I loved it to include in my essays.

I really hope I get in, this is my dream school and I would love going here above all else. Thank you!

It seems like a terrific high school record. I’d think you’d certainly be competitive for admission. Maybe someone can weigh in with any thoughts on whether it would be helpful to send something to Wake admissions about how it’s become your top choice after your visit. Wake does seek students who really want to be at the school. That helps to create a positive vibe on campus. Good luck!
