<p>This year I'm leading an advocacy initiative at my school to improve the way we handle mental health issues, encouraging the admin to hire a school counselor and hold informational talks for parents, teachers, and students. I formed a group of administration members, teachers, parents, and students to review and track progress of the initiative. I'm also part of an online community called ReachOut that seeks to spread awareness about mental health in teenagers. </p>
<p>Other:
My essay is about my love of writing and how it has developed throughout my life, starting with the copy of Elements of Style my mom gave me when I turned 13. </p>
<p>My letters of rec should be fantastic for my counselor, great for my English teacher, and good for my Physics teacher. </p>
<p>What do you think? I'm applying ED to WashU... do I have a shot there and/or anywhere else? (Stanford, CMC, Pomona?) I know a lot of my schools are reaches...</p>
