Chance me for Wellesley/Bates/Clark/MHC?

Hi everyone! First of all, I’m a junior Asian-American girl who goes to a private college prep high school.
Let’s start with the stats:

GPA weighted: 3.92 *idk my unweighted, but I’m assuming it’s at least a 3.6
Freshman year: 2/4 possible honors classes (Math/Latin)
Sophomore year: 5/5 possible honors classes
Junior year: 1 AP (History), 3/4 possible honors classes (all except chemistry, which is still college prep level)
Possible rank: top 13% 18/130

SAT: have not taken, but I assume it’ll be around 1300/1830 at best. My PSAT scores was 1160/1600, but I’m going to boost that after taking the SAT prep classes at my school.

EC’s/Leadership (these are from 9th-11th grade, I suppose I’ll continue them until senior year)

  • Choir 3 years (9th-11th)
  • Ultimate frisbee 3 years (9th-11th)
  • Civil rights 2 years (10th/11th)
  • Film club 1 year (11th)
  • NHS 1 year (11th)
  • Drama crew 1 year (11th)
  • Academic decathlon 1 year (10th)

Volunteer/Community Service
65 hrs community service at The Root Cellar- a non-profit organization where I helped the people give food to children part of my community and all part of different heritages; I also played with them during after school hours and helped with their homework at times. The organization also hosted many events for seniors and I helped decorate and clean rooms before events (like brunches) happened.

No formal leadership titles :frowning: Any tips on how to strengthen my ECs?

Awards:
National Latin Exam finalist (10th)
Bronze Award in Latin (10th)
Bronze Award in English (9th)
NHS
Coach’s Award from Ultimate Frisbee (9th/10th)

Overall, my biggest concern is that I am lacking in leadership positions for ECs and I’m uncertain of how I will do on my SATs. I’m sure my essay will be great causing I love to write. I will also choose teachers that see me as well rounded to write recs.

For my essay, I plan to emphasize on the fact that I really want to grow as a person. My #1 choice would be Wellesley because I want to grow as a leader- what I couldn’t do in high school.
Anyway, please chance me and I’ll chance back! All replies are appreciated

Clark u probably ok
Welleseley might be a far reach
MHC= less of a reach and maybe a match
Bates= reach

Is Bates/Wellesley a reach because of my weak ECs?

bump

I think Wellesley is the only reach here; others are good.
The main issue with your EC’s is that they’re just like everybody else’s, and college admissions won’t really think anything of them. Try to think of something you’re really interested in and could excel in! Maybe consider starting a club, organization, etc. of your own if you feel like there are few leadership opportunities for you at your school. Also, the lack of APs might be a little concerning to colleges, but just do your best in your classes and you’ll be fine. Select difficult (but interesting) courses for next year!

I think you maybe won’t get into Wellesley but you’ll get into the others! Chance me back? http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1939905-chance-me-p1.html

I agree that Wellesley is your only reach. What do you want to major in? I’d say think about that and then try and adjust your ECs to fit what you want to ultimately pursue as a career.

Best of luck to you! Chance me back?

@writergirl0316 I’m undecided but maybe journalism/psychology. My delusional dream would be something in performing arts and I’ve def been involved in that area a lot when it comes to my ecs. Chorus, drama, film club…

Also, why do you think it’s a reach? Is it because of my low test scores/lack of leadership in ECs?
