Recommendations

I asked my Calc teacher and my stat teacher to give me recommendations, I am generally enthusiastic in their classes, probably will get some good rec letters.

Other
State: texas, in austin
School: Westwood high school, is a large competitive high school
Ethnicity: asian (indian)
Gender: male
Income bracket: $150k+
Hooks: probably none other than the fact that I am doing an college level internship in sales whereas most companies don’t kids come in, only kids I know get internships are for medical fields, I don’t personally know anyone with internships in like tech or business fields.

Thanks for any comments you leave, If I don’t get Upenn I will probably be looking to UT hopefully.

Will you have any leadership positions next year? Other than that, your profile looks good. But top schools and especially Wharton like to see leadership

The overwhelming majority of Wharton students are in top 10%, or even top 5% of their class. You have one anti-hook, Asian American. Your EC is not very outstanding for Wharton. Be brutal honest, your chance is fair. On the other hand, nobody can chance Wharton accurately. You may work hard on your application, and try your luck. You may have some traits that the admission officer likes.

@doorrealthe I have boy scouts and also I am a leader in my schools math circle group. Other than that there is not much else.

@f2000sa Yah my school is super competitive (not make that as an excuse, because if wharton wanted me than I would being doing well in the high school that I was raised in) and also being indian is definetly an anti hook. I’m just hoping that ED will raise my chances, and also if less people apply this year bc of the new rule about EA than I’m hoping I can get in.

@cgsarat71 what is the new rule about EA?

@doorrealthe I think they are changing it so its more restrictive early decision am I right?

Also wish you the best of luck for admissions, saw your post the other day and you are super well qualified, if you apply ED I think you have a 70% to 80% chance probably if you have good college essays (and I bet you will).

Hmm. Just read that post. That’s weird (and annoying!).

Anyways, thanks for your chances! Let’s hope we both get in. Want to keep in touch throughout the application process?

hey @doorrealthe . I just saw this message. yeah sure!
