oh, ok, haha, the internet can muddle things, my bad. But the point still stands, do something with your position, maybe create an actual accounting system for the club, or find new ways to do fundraising, make an impact.

What about being an Asian male from a large public in CA, is that almost as bad as being from a large public in NJ?

You have a pretty good chance

@OP: Are you taking 16 APs by the end of your senior year?! I added the 6 you said you were taking senior year with the 10 already listed in “APs”. If so, quite impressive!

nope! haha just 10. my school doesn’t offer APs until Junior Year so I took 4 in Junior and maybe 5-6 in Senior yr.

@empirical: Still, that is strong! Congrats to you!

Im gonna say you have a chance. Probably like a 25-30 % chance. If you could try to get an Internship that would boost your chances.

Does anyone get this feeling that he may have a better chance of getting into CAS than wharton? (their acceptance rate is higher)wayyyy higher.

its not that much higher…

Hi, how is your application to Wharton or any other schools goes? Will be very interested to see the results so that we can take reference. Me, an Asian male in China. Grade 10 now and studying AP Physics. Will take SAT next year, and then take AP Physics C, Calculus BC, computer science, micro-economics in Grade 11. Participating mock UN, JA, doing class council treasurer, the District Student Art Group. Did MC for school annual carnival, campus top 10 singer. Had one Chemistry award in Grade 9 in the district where I live, then no more award. What do you think I will need to try UPENN? Thanks

Don’t claim to be an expert on demographics, but I would say good chances!
What are your essays about?

im curious, did you get in?

weird that I would browse the Penn forum for the first time in months and see my old chance thread on the front page and nope, I applied ED and wasn’t even deferred. I still got into UChicago and Northwestern though, and I’ll be attending UChicago in the fall. TBH, I’m a bit disappointed that I was rejected, but I’m still being given the opportunity to study at a school ranked as high as Penn overall, and which boasts the best economics department in the nation. In the end, I guess it all works out :)
