Chance me for William & Mary ED!

Hi, I'm applying to W&M early decision on November 1st.

I am Hispanic, male, and I will be applying for financial aid. Neither of my parents have received a degree in college, although my dad has completed 1 semester so far in a community college nearby. I am in-state.

GPA : 4.17 (weighted) - 3.9 Freshman Year/ 4.1 Sophomore year / 4.3 Junior year

Rank: top 10%

SAT: 620 Math, 620 Reading, 620 Writing.

AP courses: 1 AP sophomore year, 2 APs junior year, 4 APs senior year (received 1 three and 2 five's on the 3 AP tests taken so far)

Extracurriculars: Not many unfortunately, really holds me back, especially since this school really likes ECs. I have National French Honor society (11th and 12th grade), French Club (11th and 12th grade), Cross Country (JV Runner, 12th grade) - I also plan to run in college, couldn't progress more because of multiple injuries. I also had family responsibilities during my years in high school that prevented me from participating in more activities (taking care of two younger brothers).

Work Experience: I recently got a job working at a restaurant nearby, and I already have my schedule and everything ready so that I can put it on my app. Working 3 days/week.

I'm not sure if I missed anything. I really like this school, so what do you guys think?

I think you have a pretty good chance, especially since you’re applying early decision. Your courses sound good. I don’t agree that your ECs hold you back, especially since you have a job. Good luck!

Thanks for chancing me! But I’m worried for the fact that a lot of others that apply are a lot more competitive in terms of EC’s and SAT’s. I’m already in the bottom 25% for my SAT score; but I’ve only taken it once and didn’t get to prepare for it. Taking it again, but on Nov 5 when I will have already turned everything in. I also am applying for financial aid, and although some colleges say they use a need-blind basis to look at some applications, I know that that doesn’t always turn out to be the case. I’d like a few more opinions on this, I’d really like to go here. Buuuump.
