I am a double legacy at Vassar and a legacy a Williams please let me know what my chances are and recommendations are welcomed!

Wow!
Personally i think you have awesome grades, and seem to be a rather well rounded student. Legacies are really big in these kinds of schools (bad news for 1st generation like myself, but good for you)
write a strong essay and i’m sure you’ll do fine :)

Haha thanks! You just boosted my confidence :)) and although you’re not a legacy, first generations are in demand!!

What is your class rank or estimated percentile? The legacies will help a lot as will your ethnicity, but your SAT score is low. If you get a solid 2100, preferably 2200+, you are in good shape.

Im in the top 10%

I know my scores aren’t the best, I’m thinking of taking the ACT.

With good essays you have an good shot at everything but Yale which is up in the air for virtually everyone really. The ivy leagues, especially Yale, does love volunteer work, which you are strong in.

Bumpppp!!!

Of course your chances are higher if you apply early decision. I would not recommend applying single choice early action to Yale however, you really do not have a chance at Yale.

I disagree with cortana431, i have many friends last year with stats similar to yours who early decisioned at penn, duke, columbia etc. who got in without stellar extracurriculars or any really good hooks. You have a chance at Yale. It may be a reach but I think you have a chance.

Thanks ifailedhighsch! I’m applying to Yale EA anyway. I mean, what do I have to lose?

And i got my SAT scores–broke 2100!!!

bump!!!

Bump bump bump
