Chance me for WPI, RIT, Drexel, &more?

Please chance me for WPI, RIT, UIUC, NYU, Drexel please?

GPA: ~3.3 UW; My school doesn't calculate GPAs; No official AP/IB courses but i'm taking two advanced sciences and BC calculus this year (my senior year). I also go to a very good, very well known NYC private school that is known (at least to LACs) for grading harshly

Highest single SAT sitting: 2280 (800 CR / 750 M / 730 W) and (730/800/750)
Superscored SAT: 2350 (800/800/750)
Subject tests: 800 Math 2, 730 Lit, 710 Chem, 650 Physics (will be retaking chem and physics after a bit more studying)

Extracurriculars include a long-running interest in photography (particularly the engineering behind cameras and chemistry behind film photography); leadership roles as yearbook photo editor and helping teach lower school photo classes

Active member of school and camp GSAs

Member of all-girls FIRST robotics team

Great rec from my science teacher (has taught me for the past two years and again this year), good rec from last year's english teacher

I'm full-pay anywhere, not going to be applying for FA

Yes I'm aware I have a bad GPA. Senior year, not much I can do at this point - though I suspect there will be a huge upward trend for senior year due to personal issues junior year. My school is very well know, but tends to send people to LACs so we're having a bit of trouble figuring out my chances for more engineering-oriented schools, especially since my low gpa/high sat means just finding averages isnt too helpful

Thanks!

You’re in at WPI, probably with some sort of scholarship. RIT, Drexel, and NYU are matches. Yes you’re GPA is a tad low but try to explain the personal issues that you had junior year and I’m sure you’ll be fine.

WPI: Low match (I would normally recommend WPI to people that are in the reverse situation, i.e. high GPA and low SAT)
RIT: Low match
Drexel: Safety
NYU: Match/High match
UIUC: Reach (I don’t think UIUC is a school that likes splitters very much)

Thanks for the responses! Out of curiosity, Catria, you said that you’d normally recommend WPI to those in the opposite situation. Are there any schools you’d suggest for me that are similar to those I’ve listed?

Have you looked at RPI and University of Rochester?

I looked at U of R; I just didn’t ask for chances because my HS has a bit more experience with it so I have a better idea of what to expect

Haven’t looked at RPI yet but I should be in a month or so - opinions on my chances with it?

Low match/match

RPI: Low match/Match
U Rochester: Match

Hi guys
I am really looking forward to admission at WPI
I want to do robotics engineering? CS (confused :P)
can you tell me how good are my chances
I am Indian so will be applying as international

  1. 92% in 10th board
  2. probably 75% in 12th mid(its not easy here)
  3. 2100 in SAT I : 660 CR,800 Math,640 Writing…AP Calculus BC :4 , Physics mech : 5
  4. I am Vice President robotics society
  5. I have won 2-3 national level competitions in robotics and gaming
  6. Won 6-7 state level competitions in robotics and gaming
  7. I am working on an invention( basically a robot that would do stuff I cant tell :P)
  8. I have community service of 4 continuous years My robot is focused on ppl there :stuck_out_tongue:
I have LOR from HOD comp and HOD robotics

can i get 100% aid at WPI??

Oh, and I just remembered, I think I’m a legacy at NYU; my dad got his MBA there, if that helps anything?
