Mom went to Penn
Dad went to Michigan
Brother is at Penn

Ivies are honestly a gamble for ANYONE, but I think you have a VERY promising application and will be able to just have a slight reach for them. I think you’re in/match for Michigan and Penn.

Just apply. What will anyone say on here that will change what you do? OK, maybe this. Make sure you either apply to a few schools EA (if available) so you know in time to apply to others in case you don’t get in, or make sure you apply to about 4 “safeties”, which for you would still be schools considered to be very very good. Some example would be Tulane, USC, some of the UC schools (being out of state an advantage right now), etc.

The main thing is what is your criteria for where you want to go? Is it strictly prestige? Does the size of the school matter to you? After all, there is quite a difference between WUSTL and Michigan. Sports? There are so many factors, and there are great schools that would match almost any criteria you put forth. Money no object? These are things to consider, then you just apply to an academic range that meet these criteria. Once you say what those are, people will be glad to suggest schools that fit. But chancing really means nothing. Who here really knows what adcoms are thinking and seeing?

Pretty good SatI score!
GPA is a bit low for WUSTL and maybe a few of the Ivies…
Your essay on going to Myamar seems like it’ll be really interesting.
You have some scary extracurriculars. What can I say? Fellow future applicant (and musician), I hope we both get into Washington University.

You’re competitive. Are you good enough to be recruited at any of the three sports? If so, your chances are deepened quite a bit. I only say this because from what I’ve seen in peers seems to be that sports aren’t necessarily application pushing activities. This may not be the case for everyone, however. Also, you probably have a more interesting essay topic than most.

You have a shot I think! great job on improving on the satI! you can apply to the early decision program to be safe. are you going for the washington university in st. louis premedical program?

i don’t plan on going premed and i don’t know much about their soccer program but i could probaby play unless it was a top program, also do you guys think i should take precalc over the summer and take calc next year? i’m already taking a half year of calc next year and a kid a year older than me had the same thing and the admissions from washu said it was fine they just want that half year of calc, but i got an 800 on my sat math yet because i didnt try in 7th grade and the system is stupid, i’m not on the accel math track

Your awesome SATI is definitely in range for WUSTL and the Ivies.
I think your activities could be very interesting, and you certainly show achievement and leadership- just be sure to show the adcoms their significance and avoid ‘laundry-listing’

So you have double legacy at UPenn? I think that will help a lot, and so for UPenn you should actually have a better chance than the other schools.
