Have taken 6 APs so far, will have taken 12 by the time I graduate. Have scored 4s and 5s on all taken. I'm currently on the bubble for my state's National Merit Scholarship qualifiers, as I have a 212 (ohio). Thanks for your help, and I will help back.

competitive GPA, competitive SAT… ECs are okay. apply if its your first choice because excellent recs and essays can give you the boost you need.

You are certainly sufficiently qualified, if a bit generic. Your GPA and ACT are solid, and your extracurriculars are very good. You don’t have anything that makes you stand out, but I still think you have a pretty good chance. Consider it a low reach (Yale is pretty much a reach for anybody).

You’re definitely qualified, but who isn’t? I’d say that you’re a match. I agree with lowGPAhighACT, you do sound a little bit generic. Try to make your essay seem a little more personal/individual? And apply ED if you know you want to go there.

You’re qualified but honestly your ECs are nothing amazing. Hard to discount the Essays / Recs because I suspect in your case they will be extremelely important.

Bump D: sorry y’all.

My nephew applied to Yale. He had an 800 on two SAT 11’s, a 36 on his ACT, and was # 2 in his class. He also had amazing EC’s and was rejected. It is very hard to predict who gets into these schools.

I would also say you’re a match, but then again, there are students that have 4.0’s and 2250+ that are applying as well. You’re EC’s are OK, and creating that club is really good. It’s going to be pretty random, but I’d say you’re competitive.

As long as you write a stellar essay and procure glowing teacher recs, you’ll be just as competitive an applicant as anyone. Good luck!

Well your definitely qualified. Your ACT and GPA are great but your EC’s are a bit generic. I would recommend writing a good personal essay that shows who you are. I would say Low Reach. Chance Back?
