Chance me for Yale SCEA

I don't feel like writing a detailed description of stats, ECs, etc. Instead, I'll keep it brief with the most pertinent information. I just want to know if I have a legitimate chance.

GPA: 3.75 (Highest Rigor at top 50 HS)
ACT: 34
SAT I : N/A
SAT II : Taking in 2 weeks
ECs: president of youth culture group, volunteered in third world country for a few weeks, basketball, volunteering, research, and internship at a chemical company.
( I didn't include the little stuff like clubs and blah blah blah).

Should I bother?

My school doesn’t do uw or w gpa. they assume all courses are taught at an accelerated level with AT subjects at a college level.

I don’t think SCEA will give a big enough boost to tip your chances from remote to remotely likely (unless, say, you are a state-wide basketball star or contributed significantly to an important research paper/patent at that chemical company.) So, if you’d be using SCEA only as a tactic to boost your chances a few percent (above the <7.5% for unhooked applicants), then I’d recommend saving EA/ED for a school more likely to accept you. Preferably this would be a school you like so well you’d use the early option even if you knew it would not improve your chances.

Unlikely. Even assuming you’re top of class (which looks unlikely), score and ECs look weak. Especially coming corm a top school where much was available and where you’ll have lots of competition at top colleges.

ugh okay. i mean basketball was so work intensive, practice every day for 3 hours 7 days a week. also i had to commute from 45 minutes away so its hard to do too much at the school. i mean im on math/sci team and i have a decent amount of volunteering hours. also, i am deeply involved in journalism. i won a quill and scroll award and another for best sports story in the state of IL. also, my research resulted in a finalized, distributed product. id say that’s cool, in my opinion atleast :D

You can still APPLY to Yale and have a good chance. But maybe find somewhere else for EA. Even Chicago is slightly easier to get early.
