What is your intended major? I see a smart young man with good test scores and GPA, but ECs scattered all over the place.

So again this boils down to how you frame yourself: Are you the prospective economics/finance major, or a science/pre-med type? Not clear to me

most probably economics, econometrics or political science

berkeley is match, i know a friend with lower gpa and ecs that got in. however i can’t say about the rest

I’m not sure why you’re having us chance you; however, you’re clearly a candidate for any of those schools.

The rating system you used on your essays is far from trustworthy, but if they really are 9/10s collectively, then you should have no problem.

Again, with high test scores, a top rank, and a perfect GPA, what is there to worry about?

I would emphasize that you should REALLY make sure your essays convey who you are. Kids with really high numbers such as yourself tend to seem a little robotic to AdComms; therefore, really tell the committee WHO this person is. Tell them your interests in creative, fun ways.

Other than that, good luck with college admissions.

For your awards, just some clarifications:
(1) By international math competitions, do you mean the International Mathematics Olympiad? Or do you mean something more sketchy… lol
(2) By science competitions (experimental design), do you mean the Science Olympiad event? And if so, what kind of award did you get? i.e. regionals medal v. nationals gold are quite different in merit
(3) idk in general, more specificity in “plenty of awards” - depending on what specific award it is, it could either do pretty much nothing or really be an insane hook (like IMO)

Your GPA is great and your SAT scores and AP scores are nice - it definitely seems like you are taking rigorous courses and doing well. Your work/volunteering is also really impressive - definitely a strong point which would be great to elaborate on. I would say you have a really good shot, especially if your essays were effective.

I’m not sure how the awards play in - on the optimistic extreme (like IMO), then I would even say that Princeton is more match than reach, but if they’re like CML, then I wouldn’t rely on them.

Your qualifications are good enough to justify the application fee, and that’s the only useful thing we can tell you. Good luck!

brah, I got deferred

YOU got deferred? Shiiii
