My essays are really great, I'm extremely proud of them.

Your ACT is very low compared to Ivy League statistics, but you are black, so it is possible that you get in. Don’t count on it, but you have a chance somewhat.

That is very condescending. Students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and low scores are more a result of schooling, social economic background, etc. I know a lot of AA students that post 2400 scores as well as non-whites whose scores are much lower. Please do not generalize like that.

@whuffy, I’m with Tperry1982 on this. [rant]You seem to gravitate to posts where you can make a supportive-appearing but fundamentally insulting comment about athletes, or more commonly, URMs.

You were considering applying to Yale. If you do/did, and if your attitude did not come through in your LoRs, essays, interviews, etc. (which would throw you in the reject pile quickly), and if you were accepted, I think you should consider long and hard about whether you would feel comfortable at Yale.

I don’t know how diverse your “very competitive and difficult private high school in Ohio” is, but I think you should do some personal examination on the issue of entitlement, perhaps on your next mission trip to Belize with your family. [/rant]

I love it IxnayBob! Thanks for having my back. I’m assuming if @Whuffy doesn’t get in he’ll rationalize that his “spot” was taken by a lower scoring black student. Definitely not the mindset Yale looks for in its student body.
