Chance Me - French Student

Hi everyone! Could you please chance me for Columbia and NYU - Stern?

I'd like to know if you think i could get in. I listed a lot of extracurricular activities, please tell me if some of those aren't worth to be mentioned in my application.

-International student : I live in Paris, French is my first language.
-In 2011-2012 I'll be in senior year in Lyc

Is something wrong with my 1st post?

Nothing is wrong with the first post.

An EC is something which you spend your time with and do outside of school–but it doesn’t mean that EVERY activity is college-app appropriate. Regarding your list, i suggest that you emphasize:

-your server managing/administration
-citadel painting
-any athletic activities that you show a lot of passion for
-your jobs/internships
-anything else that shows passion and enthusiasm for learning
-possibly samples of your written work if the school allows for supplements

I suppose the travel experiences and reading could be good essay subjects. I don’t know if you should include Magic the Gathering or not. Be sure to include awards and honors as well.

What are you planning to major in? Do you have any practice tests to support your score predictions?

What are you planning to major in? In my opinion

^Sorry for the weird glitch.

Do you have practice tests to support your score predictions?

LOL on your wonderful gaming experiences! It might be risky to admissions people but you might want to list them as it sounds interesting. I really dont know how things work for internationals, but good luck!

Hi and thanks for your responses.
Tempertrap -> do you think I should remove some of the EC’s I listed ?
btw i’m planning to major in finance or marketing.
I took a few practice tests, and that’s where my score predictions come from. 2200 out of 2400 is the minimum score I hop to reach with more practice.

andrewsun1994 -> theorically, it works the same way for international students, except that we have to take the TOEFL test (Test Of English as a Foreign Language).
Do you think my gaming experiences would be interesting, assuming that I can talk about it in a passionate way?

Definitely NYU Stern.
Very strong ECs and superb academics.

SAT and TOEFL are bit different, by the way.

Thanks, and do you think I have a shot at Columbia?
I know SAT and TOEFL are different since I took practice tests for both of these tests
The TOEFL is way easier since it’s designed for foreign students.

Buuuuuuump!

Is there a limit with the bumps?

As an international applicant, you are in the most competitive pool. You do seem like an unusually interesting applicant, though, and your English is strong. If you are willing and able to pay full price, you could probably get into a lot of excellent universities in the US.
