<p>Please chance me....I've already applied to 5 colleges; and I'm really worried about my chances.
Okay so I'm an international student from Bangladesh, Asia; and I am going to major in Business.</p>

<p>SAT score:
CR-570....I know very low ='(
M- 710
W-660
a total of 1940/2400
1280/1600</p>

<p>SAT 2:
Math 2:680</p>

<p>TOEFL IBT: I have taken TOEFL and my results will be out next week. I think I did good.</p>

<p>Class Rank:top 1%
High school doesn't have GPA
okay so my GCSEs (exam taken for the 10th grade) were fairly good: Math-A, Pure Mathematics:A, English Lang:B; Bangla:A; Economics:A; Commerce:A; Physics:B; Accounting:A
my A Levels (Advanced Subsidiary exams): Mathematics:A, Accounting:A, Business Studies:A; Economics:B
Recommendations: VERY STRONG, including one from my principal (she is well actually my counselor)</p>

<p>ECs:
Swimming: I've been swimming since I was 13, and I came first in a few contests.
Journalism: I monthly publish articles for a national club, and I even got a certificate from the club abt this.
Badminton and Tennis: They are more like a leisure activity.
Tutor: I have tutored a few elementary and high school students.</p>

<p>Note: None of the sports mentioned are 'Varsity sports'; the only sports my school offers are football and volleyball.</p>

<p>Leadership: Not much, I was once the class monitor/leader in the 9th grade.</p>

<p>Work Experience: Math teacher's assistant and tutor.</p>

<p>Essays: Well its like an interview where one of my personalities ask questions to my other personalities. I think the style is innovative and creative, and really shows who I am. Plus everyone who read my essay loved it. As for my supplemental essays, they were um very straightforward.</p>

<p>Family Contribution: not more than 7000 dollars; so basically I need a hell lot of financial aid, and I guess that hurts my chances.</p>

<p>List of Colleges:
1.Dickinson College (applied Early decision 2)
2.University of Richmond
3.Gettysburg College (gives full aid to int students if admitted but the competition's very stiff)
4.College of Wooster
5.Trinity Texas University
6.Rhodes College</p>

<p>Note: all the colleges in the list offers a lot of financial aid to students</p>

<p>Dickinson could be tough. A quote from their website: </p>

<p>“Qualifying for Financial Aid”</p>

<p>The number of international students awarded need-based aid from Dickinson will depend on the pool of applicants each year. Reporting of SAT scores is required to qualify for financial aid. To give you a perspective on standardized-test-score minimums, we suggest:</p>

<p>combined Verbal/Critical Reading and Math SAT score of 1350 or higher, or
an ACT composite of 32 or higher.</p>

<p>If your combined score is lower because of SAT Verbal or Critical Reading section scores, we will consider TOEFL results when reviewing your credentials. In this case, a score of 700-plus in the Math section of the SAT and 250-plus on the TOEFL (100-plus on the Internet-based TOEFL) would be best."</p>

<p>Richmond is also a reach. You have better chances at Wooster and Trinity, in my opinion, but they are definitely not safeties since you need FA. I would suggest applying to some other schools, if you can find ones that have later deadlines. That’s the only way to improve your chances now. There is thread that lists such schools on CC.</p>

<p>I have applied to Dickinson and Wooster and I also need a lot of aid.</p>

<p>yes I know about the Dickinson criteria…and I do have a 700+ in math, and I think I will get a 100+ in my TOEFL. So I’m pretty sure, I’ll qualify for the aid.</p>

<p>Well actually I do have a safety school in mind; but I’ll apply to it after February 15 (that is when my Dickinson notification of admission will be out).</p>

<p>ur stats are more or less like me…Im from BD as well…but I’m applying to a bit mor selective collges!
dickinson will be tough, yes…richmond too…but u’ll probably get into 3 out of 5…don’t worry too much. Are these the only colleges u applied to?</p>

<p>thnx for the info…yeah I got rejected frm Dickinson (Ps I had a 107 TOEFL IBT score)…well I also applied to DePauw and Oberlin. Yeah I’m not sure if I’ll get in with enuf aid =/
