I realize it’s difficult to chance me as I am still a junior, but any critiques as to what I can do to improve my application next year would be greatly appreciated! I have some great teachers and counselors for letters of recommendation and writing are my strong suit, so I’m confident my application essays will be up to par.
Thank you!!!

You’re probably good for UF, but the admissions process there is random so you never really know. NYU is a good match, georgetown reach, cornell high reach, upenn very high. But, you are a junior, so if you can A’s this year, do well in EC’s, and get your SAT atleast past 1300(mid 1400s is average for cornell and georgetown, 1500 for upenn) you could be competitive for the others.

Thank you for your input! My sister attends UF so I’m confident in my chances there. I figured UPenn was pretty out of the question. Any suggestions for other good matches?

all those schools are not out of the question! UF is even a safety I think. Penn isn’t out, it’s just a gamble for all students, no matter their credentials.

All this just depends on this year! Raise your GPA first and foremost. That’s probably your best bet. What scale are you on? a 4.1 is good, but higher will help you.

Also, SAT’s need to go up. They are not the biggest deal, but matter, especially so if you’re going into STEM. like 1400+. Speaking of, what is your intended major? and what kind of school are you looking for? big/ small/urban/ research / LAC/ Lac in Big UNI?

biggest tip- show interest. Go to college info sessions, talk to Reps, etc.
