Considering you’re in state, and that GT is public, you have a very good shot at getting in (especially EA).
I was out of state, applied EA, and got in. I had similar test scores (although on the old SAT), about the same rank (from a top PA high school), and slightly better AP scores (although I doubt they care about those). I think our counselors’ recs were generic, given that we had probably 50 kids to one counselor. Teacher recs were better, given that I went to my teachers and asked.
When it comes to extracurriculars in high school, I’m going to let in you on a secret. Colleges really don’t give two craps about your ECs, unless you were a Math Olympiad International Participant or something along the likes. They just care if you were involved; if you weren’t, then your application would be hurt. If you were, then it doesn’t hurt. Overall, colleges don’t care. What they DO care about is how your ECs may have shaped you into the person you are today. How does that character fit in at that college? Oh, and some colleges love to see volunteering on your list (I see that you have it, so you’re solid).
Basically, write good essays, and you’re 99.99% guaranteed admission. You have the test scores; now show them your character.
Nobody is 99.99% guaranteed admission when admission rates are 25%. That said, this looks ;like a strong record, and they are taking, IIRC (at least based on last year’s admits, and this is from memory), 60% from instate.
@jym626 I dont think I am going to submit my AP scores because I scored a 3 on my Physics 1 exam. I took Calculus AB and scored a 5. AP Chemistry and AP Lang were both 4s.
@jym626 99.99% given his stats. which are amazing. Given that he’s also in state, it’s even better looking for him. There’s always that 0.01% chance that he doesn’t get in…
@jym626 Unfortunately, I couldn’t be a candidate for their distance because I took AB Calculus :(. Is this going to have a major impact on my admission?
You have a good shot at GT as your instate, good ACT scores, and rigorous coursework. Your EC’s also look good and you should be fine. I would try and take the SAT if you can as you may do better on it than the ACT.
It’s fine that you didn’t take distance calculus this year as long as you’re taking a higher level calculus this year. Almost everyone in the distance math gets in to Tech but very few applicants have taken the distance calculus, so it shouldn’t hurt you.
I’m also applying early as a chemical engineering major. I think you should get in; your stats are great and you have strong extracurriculars. Good luck!
