Chance Me! going to UT at Austin?

Hi, and thank you for having me at this wonderful community of future academics!
I applied to UT at Austin in late December. I am In-State, and I plan to major in Biology BS (I applied to the school of Natural Sciences).
My Stats are:

  • 3.75 GPA (98.12 on school website).
  • 1920 on the SAT, didnt take ACT
  • EC’s are pretty good. I actively participated in the music industry over the summer and continue to do so now.
  • as of Junior Year I was ranked 42/334 at a very competitive school. I know, not STELLAR (Top 12 pecent), I didnt realize my potential Junior year.
  • My essays were pretty good.
  • One letter of recommendation. A my-bad on my part, waited too long to ask.
  • and finally I’m African-American

Thank you very much! I REALLY WITH ALL MY HEART WANT TO GET INTO THIS SCHOOL. I know that you shouldn’t throw all your eggs in one basket but I cant help it :confused: haha God be with me :smiley:

I also want to clarify, the 3.75 GPA is Unweighted.

If you are in the auto-admit range (top 7% of Texas high school students), then admission to UT Austin will be difficult, because you will be competing with Texas high school students who just missed the top 7%, all out-of-state applicants, and all international applicants for the remaining spots (probably about a quarter).
