Hey guys! This fall I’m going to be applying to GW ED! Im going to be applying to the Elliott School of International Affairs and I was just wondering what you think my chances are, and also the possibility of getting merit scholarships?
GPA: 4.05
SAT: 1360 (retaking it twice before application)
US History: 740
Lit: 750
AP classes at my school are maxed out at 3 per year that’s why I dont have so many
-World History: 4
-US Gov and Politics: 5
-AP Language: 5
Im also taking AP Comparative Gov, AP Lit, and AP statistics this coming year
Extracurriculars:
-Crew team, fall winter and spring seasons 9-12
- Volunteer at a local homeless shelter 10-12
-Volunteer in school at nurses office 10-11 - Part of a selective fellowship for public service, interned in a city councilor’s office as well as met with local, state, and federal elected officials 11
- Model UN Club 10-12
-Officer of a women’s leadership club 11-12
-Member of a mental health awareness club 9-12
-Member of Students Advocating for Gender Equality club 10-12 - Participant in Social Justice Institute at local homeless shelter 10
- I also plan to volunteer on local election campaign this summer 12

-National Latin Exam, Silver medalist 9-10
-AP Scholar 11
-(not sure if this should go here) medalist at local Model UN conference
My recommendations are probably going to be very strong, from my junior year English and Government teacher, and I’m also thinking about including a supplemental recommendation from the public official I interned for who was also a GW alum!
I’m a white female from Boston and I attend a very prestigious, rigorous public high school (Boston Latin School)
We dont have class rank, but I’m definitely top 10% of the class
