Hi all! I’m applying Early Decision 1 to GWU for the Fall 2023 Semester. What are my chances of admission?

Male/White
Attends a Los Angeles Private School
UW GPA: 3.50/4.00
W GPA: 3.71
APs: 5
Honors: 3
SAT: 1330 (Probably won’t submit)
Extracurriculars:

  • Suicide Hotline Counselor
  • Red Cross Club Founder/Leader
  • Red Cross Club Supervisor (Supervisor for 15+ high school clubs)
  • Human Development Teaching Assistant
  • 4+ Years Theater
  • Photography
    Community Service Hours: 350+

Major applying to: Human Services & Social Justice / Columbian College of Arts & Sciences

Based on your profile, I think you get in.

It’s not going to be a high end major as far as GW goes (politics, etc.)

Your GPA is right there and their listed profile and CDS show a different 25th percent SAT but you are above both minimums - but barely. A tad less than half submit so I think it’s fine either way. I’d personally submit. I mean, you took the test!!

I’m assuming you are full pay and you can afford it?

If so, I’d say 75/25 - not a slam dunk but you’re a guaranteed butt in seat and that will work in your favor.

Just note - and you can see it on their major page - outcomes in that type of field aren’t strong financially - so before you go and spend $340K, etc. you might want to have that discussion with your parents.

Thank you for the reply. Admissions is unpredictable these days, so we’ll see, but I’m glad others agree it’s a good shot.
