My dad went to Harvard for Grad school, my mom went to Cornell. I've taken summer courses at Johns Hopkins and Brown.

Sorry this is so long...ahah...

I think you have a great chance at all of those schools honestly… Much better than me haha. I doubt you’ll have any trouble getting into the school you want.

High reach (but VERY possible for you!): Harvard SCEA, Yale, Columbia, Brown
Mid reach: UChicago
Low reach: Berkeley EA
High match: UCLA, Cornell, Tufts
Mid match: UMich
Safety: Penn State

Good luck! :)

thanks for the responses!

bump?

buuuummmmmmmppp

I think you have a good chance at these schools, but I have one concern that some of the more selective schools like share: there is a weakness in STEM areas in your application while you list computer science and neuroscience as your main interests. I do not think that you can easily stand out as a STEM-focused student when you have only math to Calc AB, which could be understandable for people living in poor, rural areas—not Westchester, NY, though—, and want to study computer science when many intended Harvard comp sci students have, according to their guide for concentrators, experience in discrete and rigorous proof-based mathematics. At the same time, you cannot easily pose as a visual arts student. For UC Berkeley—even for OOS—and the other state schools, however, I think that you look like a great applicant.

Chance back?

Semi-Safety: UCB, UCLA and Michigan
Penn ST: In

Cornell: Good chances STEM Female

thanks for the advice. i’ve taken all the science courses that my school offers, and the second-highest level math (the highest they offer is BC Calc), plus my science research internship is neuroscience-specialized and I have been at the lab for about two years, and I’ll be participating in several more science research competitions this year. At the same time, my possible concentrations are more interests, and if I were to be honest I’d say that I’m an undecided, so I probably won’t be applying to engineering schools specifically.

I’ll definitely take a look at your thread!
