Not to mention, I'm an Asian Male. I think the only thing that actually makes me stand out is my research...

deferred. hate to say it but being an asian male puts you in the most competitive pool of ethnically diverse applicants who will probably average 2300 SATs :/

@ptkid16 @dontdodrugs
Do you two even know what Siemens Regional Finalist is?

Unhooked Asian males who are accepted by Harvard have a perfect GPA and a 2300+ SAT score in addition to an award(s) that is of similar prestige to Siemens Regional Finalist.

I’m aware of my low academics, but I spent literally my whole entire high school career writing + publishing research papers. That’s the only thing that I’m actually proud of.

For what it’s worth, I think you have just as good a chance as any qualified Asian male.

Don’t let chance me threads get to you. What’s anybody supposed to tell you three days before decisions are out? I’ve seen people who had Jesus-looking stats in their post get deferred/rejected, and some accepted that you’d think would be completely hopeless.

Best of luck to you. Looking forward to SCEA results in three days as well :)

Hmmm… Harvard is the crap shootiest crap shoot school in the world even for people with perfect GPA and EC’s like winning America’s Talent with a violin. With your low GPA(for Harvard, excellent for any other school), I don’t think you have a decent shot… But since you applied early action, your chances go up a bit and I would say you have atleast 5% chance of getting accepted. Just flip a coin 20 times and if they’re all heads, you’re in!!!

First place in Sigma Xi International Chemistry Contest, but 4 in AP Chemistry? Really?

Just banking on Siemens Regional Finalist and extensive research alone gives you a fair chance, but the GPA+SAT+AP scores will definitely bring your accomplishments down. Really depends on the quality of the research.

Chillax everyone, it’s fine. I prefer to understand the reason behind things, rather than flat out memorize crap. The chemistry shown on the AP test is completely different than the research I did. It’s k, we’ll see results tomorrow.

honestly you should still be proud of that, I recommend taking the SAT or ACT again and improving your scores, then you’ll have an even better chance
