This is a “chance me”, but I’m also looking for schools where I could receive some sort of merit scholarships. I don’t qualify for a significant amount of financial aid. I would be paying $30-40,000/yr at each school besides UMass Amherst, so I really want to look into more colleges that give merit-aid scholarships.
I’m looking into UMass Amherst, Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern, Tufts, Brown, Cornell, Yale, Georgetown, Stonehill College, Williams
I have no clue what I’ll major in since I have so many interests. It all depends on where I end up.
Class Rank: #6/240…I shift around a lot since the students in the top 10 of my grade have gpa’s 0.01 points close to each other, but #6 is likely where I will stay unless someone drops out of school.
GPA Weighted: 4.606
Unweighted very close to 4.0, but my school doesn’t even use or send the unweighted to colleges
ACT - 31 first time
- English 34
- Math 35
- Reading 27
- Science 29
I did take the SAT, but realized I would never be able to score as well as I wanted to on it, so I switched to the ACT. The math and English sections can be perfected, and I’m hoping to bring reading and science up a few points to get a 34 composite score.
I’m taking APUSH, AP Physics 1, and AP Lit next month. I’m expecting 4-5s on APUSH and Lit, but a 1 on Physics.
I’m prepping for Math II and US History. Hoping to get 800 and 700+. If I really want to apply to Georgetown I think I need 3 SAT II’s (not too sure about that rule though) so I would take SAT II Literature in the fall.
I’ve taken the most rigorous courses offered at my school. I know it may look easy to some kid who took 6 AP’s his freshman year, but this is all my school lets us take, and in my opinion, it is challenging enough.

Extracurriculars
Varsity Swimming & Diving - I’m a captain, I’ve gone to states for both swimming and diving, I’ve won a lot, I love diving, and I’ve been doing it since I was 10.
I train for diving with a club team. I quit the elite diving program in middle school because it took up to much time and was wearing me out, but I still go to them for coaching twice a week.
Global Citizenship Program - Secretary this year and Co-President for senior year. I’ve done a lot of service work through this EC. it’s a project-based certificate program, and I’m putting my GCP resume on the common app. It’s one of my most time-consuming ECs.
MUN - I’m a part of it, but it just started at the beginning of this year. I’m the head of health, but we haven’t been to enough competitions and stuff, so I might not even include it as an EC.
Young Dems - I’m a part of my region and town’s YD. I serve as the event coordinator for both. We work with the local and state government and help with campaigning.
Senior District Orchestra - I’ve auditioned and been accepted to districts since the 7th grade (the grade jr districts starts in my state). It’s a big time commitment prepping for auditions.
All-State Orchestra- I auditioned last year and this year after getting recommendations based on my district score. I got in this year, and I likely qualify for All-Eastern (basically the east coast), so I’ll find out about that in the fall.
Cello Duo - I perform with my friend at a bunch of town events and competitions, and we’ve won a few medals at ensemble competitions
Celtic Strings - we play a bunch of holiday music, Celtic reels, fiddle stuff, and “pop” music. I’m the president and I arrange and write some of the music that we play.
Community Chamber Orchestra - We play all around the place. We go around to different spaces and perform concerts. It’s a group of adults, and then there’s me.
Youth Orchestra connected to the one I mentioned above
NHS, Tri-M, Spanish NHS, etc. - I’m VP of Tri-M, applying to be an officer of NHS, and Spanish NHS doesn’t run anymore so idk why I mentioned it
I forgot to mention demographical stuff. I am white, in the middle class, and I will be a first-generation college student
