Chance me! Hopkins, Notre Dame, U Michigan, UCLA, and Cornell

Hello,

I was wondering if you guys could rate my chances of getting into Johns Hopkins University. I want to go into a Pre-Med major. Here are my stats. I go to a pretty prestigious Catholic high school, and I was also wondering how that factors into how JHU will view my application and my GPA. I was also planning on applying Early Decision. I am only a Junior right now.

Even though JHU is my #1, could you also chance me for Notre Dame, U Michigan, UCLA, and Cornell.

ACT: 33 (35 English, 29 Math, 35 Reading, & 31 Science) I am going to take it again in June and I am aiming for a 35.

Cum GPA: 4.25

Junior Classes: AP Psychology, Honors Pre-Calculus, U.S. History, Religion (We are forced to take a religion class every year), AP Biology, and AP English Lang.

Senior Classes: AP Calculus (AB), AP Civics, Honors Philosophy, AP Physics C, AP English Lit., and Ceramics (VAPA).

I have won a few department awards, and I think that my recommendations will be pretty great, along with my own admission’s essays.

EC:

Volunteering at Sharp Hospital: 100 hours
Coaching middle school basketball and soccer teams for 3 seasons: 75 hours
Elderly Home/Feeding America: 50 hours
Club Soccer all 4 years
Founder of Cancer Awareness Club we have raised over $2000
President of the Pre-Med Club

I am going to intern with an ER doctor this summer, full-time.

I think that’s pretty much it, if there is anything else that I should do to solidify my application please let me know,

Thanks.

don’t you have to apply for a biology major and just take pre med track? Maybe I’m thinking of only a couple schools but w/e

ACT is great, GPA is pretty good (btw, whats your uw?), and you’ve shown dedication to being in medicine. Solid app all around, but idk if you’ll get into JHU. It’s always a crapshoot.

JHU- high reach
Cornell- reach
UCLA- reach
Notre Dame- low reach/ high match
UMich- high match

I definitely think you will get into at least 1 of these schools. It’s so hard to predict the tippity tops, so i would advise finding some safeties that you love! Just keep up your grades, and don’t worry if ACT doesn’t go above 33. That’s a perfectly good score. Anyway, good luck at Cornell! I’m applying there too, same time as you

Btw, what does a cancer awareness club do? Aren’t most people aware of cancer?

Thank you MaizeScream, and good luck to you as well!

The Cancer Awareness Club honestly has the wrong name, but we raise money and donate it to this family who really needs the financial support.

I don’t agree with @MaizeScream I think that you have pretty good chances with all these different schools. You’re an amazing candidate and I think that you can get in. The only thing I think I think is that you’re EC’s are pretty bad. And you don’t have many leadership positions… try to fix that this year
