^ cal, UCLA, and USC are not low reaches. you’re in.

Hmm thanks. Anyone know what I should improve on mainly? Maybe add an Investment banking club to go along with the business?

10char bump

^^ From my personal experience, what impresses colleges the most is how much “real” experience you have in the field you are interested in. Rather than joining a club, try joining a joint venture with your fellow students (look up Junior Achievement). I was VP of Marketing and Sales of a JA Company, and colleges were quite impressed.

Competition will be tough for any Ivy League school; it is pretty much a reach for anyone. You have to find ways to really stand out; for example, everyone will be a part of a school club, and hold positions like president, but not many would have started a not-for-profit organization or an online charity (for example, ofc)

klouie10133, that’s some great advice.

However, I feel as though you haven’t completely read the post and are giving half baked advice. I have founded a business, that not only made some very impressive profits, but also donated them to further the education level of bright youth in my area.

I’d say on average the big schools save only 20% of slots for foreign applications. For foreign applicants it’s not a meritocracy nor should it be.

It’s hard to chance int’l students.

UCLA, for example, is a notorious example. It accepted 13-14% of int’l students ten years ago. Now it’s 33%. Last year it was an astonishing 40+%.
