Wow, you remind me of a person I knew who got accepted into MIT a few years ago. It was his top choice, and he was a Chinese football player who was captain of the math team. He had a 1600 too. Looks like you got a great shot, though he was deferred then admitted after.

With the football to help you and MIT’s love of math I would say you have a good shot.

MIT-top choice: High Match
Princeton: Reach (Always a reach for all Ivies) If you get them to consider football you will have a really good shot.
Harvard: Reach
Yale: Reach
Middlebury: Match
NYU: In, Match
Dartmouth: Low reach
Georgetown: Low Reach/High Match
Cornell: Low Reach
Columbia: Reach

MIT-top choice: high match
Princeton: reach, good choice, especially if you want to major in math
Harvard: reach
Yale: reach; high match b/c they actually ask for USAMO/AIME scores=>means they take that in consideration
Middlebury: match
NYU: low match
Dartmouth: high match
Georgetown: high match
Cornell: high match
Columbia: low reach

You have a VERY strong application for MIT. USAMO is very impressive (WOW!! =) 10 on the AIME). Your GPA is slightly low though, Strong test scores. THe only concern is your ethnicity.
Anyway, making USAMO makes you in my eye 10 times more worth than the other 800’s SAT grade grubbers, academically untalented applicants. Not sure how it looks for Princeton/Harvard… and the likes.

What’s even more impressive is that you’re not only a beast in math, you also have an idiosyncratic/impressive set of EC’s, which is more unusual for asians.

the fact that your not the typical asian and that you have incredible ECs will distinguish you from the rest of the crowd, which can only help your chances. Good luck!

MIT-top choice: low reach
Princeton: reach
Harvard: reach
Yale: reach
Middlebury: match
NYU: low match
Dartmouth: low reach
Georgetown: high match
Cornell: low reach/ high match
Columbia: low reach

Notwithstanding the first reply, I think you’re an incredibly unique student. In all honesty, your essay sounds like it would be a lot of fun to read!

When you’re applying to ultra-selective schools like Harvard, Princeton and Yale, there’s always going to be a degree of arbitrariness in the final decision. Don’t kick yourself if one or two reject you, but–in all honesty–your SAT scores, standout extracurriculars (especially your math contests!) and personal story make you a viable candidate for each of them. I don’t want to get your hopes up, but you definitely have a shot at acceptance into an IVY league school.

mit- high match
princeton - high match
harvrd reach
yale - high match
Middlebury: match
nyu - match/in!
Dartmouth: high match
georgetown: match
cornell - midmatch
columbia - low reach

Most of the colleges you’ve mentioned are reaches for everyone. However, with your exceptional activities, I’d say Middlebury, NYU, Dartmouth, Georgetown, and Cornell are all matches! Keep up the great work!

MIT-top choice: high match
Princeton: low reach
Harvard: low reach
Yale: match
Middlebury: safety
NYU: safety
Dartmouth: low match
Georgetown: low match
Cornell: match
Columbia: low match

As an international, I’d advise you against NYU and Cornell. NYU’s sticker price is really high and I think their FA is sucky (lots of loans). Cornell has pretty limited FA for intels, I only know one intel who’s got FA.

You’re an outstanding candidate, but I wonder if there’re better choices for you than those two particularly.

You would be a strong math applicant. Unfortunately, you’re an international, which means you’re applying against the imoers from asian countries for the few slots alloted for international math folks. I wish you best of luck, but don’t count chickens before they hatch.

MIT- low reach
Princeton: low reach
Harvard: low reach
Yale: low reach
Middlebury: in
NYU: in
Dartmouth: match
Georgetown: match
Cornell: match
Columbia: low match

You look like a great applicant especially to MIT with the football recommendation. I would be suprised if you didnt get into any of your high matches/low reaches
