<p>GPA: ~3.7-3.8? Idk, i usually get all A's and one B+ or all A's and one A-. I go to the top HYP feeder public school in the nation (accd to some magazine, ~10% go to HYP). Class of <200, im not sure exactly what. No rankings. No average calculated, they leave that to the colleges w/ their own weighting systems. All honors classes.
SAT IIs: Bio: 800
Math IIC 800.
USHistory, 710, retaking in october.
SATS: took twice. 2270 both times 2300 super score.
Super score: Math: 790. English: 740. Writing: 770.
Awards:
1st place MathCounts competition in City Team
1st place in MathCounts competition in State team
4 Awards from John's Hopkins Center for Talented Youth for Distinction in Math and REading as an 7th grader, 8th grader, Being one of the highest scoring participants in the State of NY, and for scoring 700-800 on SatI mathematics before age 13
National Latin Exam: 2 Summa Cum Laude's and One Maxima Cum Laude.
Award for participating in Continental Mathematics league with Distinction in 9th grade
First Place Soph-Frosh HS team for the New York City Interscholastic Mathematics league.
Will Probably be NMS semifinalist at least (231 PSAT)
APs: 5 on AP Stat, 4 on AP USH
Next Year: BC calc, Comp Sci, Econ (macro and micro), Advanced Logic and Comp (dont think this is easy because its not AP. Our school's english curriculum goes over most of the stuff gone over in the AP version from 7th-11th grade, and the teachers found the required curriculum for an "AP" class as too restrictive).</p>

<p>Extracurriculars/outside of school stuff:
Math Team
Varsity Fencing Team (2nd place team in our league this year expecting 1st next year. Next year will be third season)

Ultimate Frisbee Team (next year will be 3rd season)
~300 hours working in political internship with Councilman John C. Liu

Member of the Columbia Science Honors Program- Took Calculus in the "Complex Plane" and "Nano--from science to technology".

<p>Some nice econ/businessy stuff:
Merrill lynch internship for the asst. VP of "Global Wealth Management." Just a note for those who dont know, Merrill Lynch does NOT usually take high school interns. As in they dont have many and there is no sort of internship program that they have. You have to get these internships in HS through resources and such of your own (or if your school)
Internship at a insurance and risk management company this summer. 5 days a week, 7 hrs a day.</p>

<p>Assuming pretty good (not expecting AMAZING) teacher recs and essay, what are my chances for Columbia REGULAR D? Thanks. I'm also thinking about applying for Harvard, and/or Columbia, and/or UChicago. Chances? Thanks!</p>

<p>Oh, i forgot to say i was applying ED to wharton. And also, im probably getting recs from the 2 places I worked at. Chances for wharton/ other places if you havent chanced already.</p>

would you say you are roughly in the top 10% of your class? because that would give you the cutting edge since 10% of your class goes to HYP. consider adding some more schools ( you know, below top 10).

<p>Great stats, your profile looks fine, only, in your essays, you should talk about your non-maths stuff? I mean, your sport achievements are amazing too, but everything’s kind of swamped by your maths stuff, sort of gives idea of crazy-maths-nerd. Stereotypical, I know, but that’s what the admissions people think.
With a good essay pushing your non-maths stuff, since it speaks for itself, I think you have just as good as chance for others.
I’d love to be more definite, but EVERYONE who applys to Ivies etc. have just as amazing ECs and SATs and stuff… sigh. But you have just as good a chance as anyone else…
