I'm a senior and I'm applying regular decision. I have an interview with the admissions counselor for my region next Saturday! Im soo nervous. If anyone has any tips, sharing would be appreciated. Haha

Anyways,
Gpa weighted: 4.05 unweighted: 3.56 (both might rise if I get my English teacher to bump up one of my grades so possibly to like almost a 4.1 and 3.6)
SAT: cr: 680 math: 660 writing: 700 (2040 combined)
I'm taking it again in October as well as the ACT for the first time

Senior year course load: AP Lit, AP Stats, Calculus 2/3, and economics
APs/Honors taken: English 9 10 & 11 honors, AP Physics, AP Calc, APUSH, Algebra 2 honors, pre cal honors
Basically I've taken every honors/ap that I could except for Spanish haha

I've played high school soccer all 4 years
I've played club soccer for 7 years (6-10 hours/week)
I've worked at my job for a little over a year (8-14 hours/week)
I've been in girl scouts for the past 13 years, doing various volunteer work
I've been in friendship circle for the past 3 year (a club where we eat lunch with special needs kids)
Class rank: top 17% -_- my class is the most competitive our school has had in years
Intended major: business although I'm definitely going to apply to their IBE program.. I honestly have no idea what my chances are for that though

Any comments/tips are appreciated :D

Lehighhopeful,

Good luck with your interview! Don’t be nervous, though, as the interview is more informative (as in you ask THEM questions) rather than evaluative (as in they ask YOU questions). So, I would recommend that you come up with some good questions that can’t be found online and ask away! Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Your GPA (both UW and W) are good! Since you took the most challenging courses that your school offers (except for Spanish), you will be fine in this regard. However, you did take some language right? It would be VERY difficult to get accepted without some years of language.

Your SAT is about 50-60% percentile, so this should be fine, too. If you’re able to raise it then fantastic! If not, don’t worry. You also may do much better on the ACT; only time will tell.

Your ECs are great! The club sport and the school sport obviously take up a lot of your time, but you’re still able to hold a part time job and two other clubs! This will bode rather well for you. Just be sure to expand upon your leadership roles, too.

Top 17% is great! Don’t worry about it. I have a GPA of 98.08 and my rank is 14.8%, so I understand the competition of your school… Frustrating, huh?

I don’t know anything about IBE except that it’s harder to get into. However, I still believe you have good chances of getting in and are therefore a “match.”

Best of luck, hopefully we’ll be the class of 2017!
