chance me? i kno its annoying but i would really help!!

Yeah so chances for ivy leagues? or selective LAC like Amherst?
im really stressed right now with school and applications so please help out? thanks :)

Okay so I’m a bit weird because I lived abroad my whole life. I did grades 9 and 10 in France and 11 and 12 in Africa. I went to international schools, but the move halfway through high school sorta messed me up for ECs and grades (really different school systems, didn’t know teachers…)
I didn’t do much work experience or internships because in the countries I lived it was not part of the culture for high school students to have part time jobs or anything.

ACADEMICS:
GPA/class rank: my school doesn’t do them, don’t even know what GPA stands for. Top 10% for sure, like top 5 maybe. but its a small school (less than 100 in my grade)
SAT: 2090 (M-770 CR-730 W-690) redoing
SATII: math2-800 bioE-800

Full IB diploma: HL math, bio, physics
SL English A, French A, history
TOK,

Predicted like 38/45? (not sure)
Did really well in grades 9/10, pretty good in 11/12. But really really really hard course load…

Fluent trilingual: English/French/German
‘outstanding student’ award
honor roll
4th place in international math competition
nmsc semifinalist

Unsure about recs, I only knew my counselor for a few months
Teacher recs good, not amazing, didn’t know them much…

EXTRACURRICULARS:
Tennis-(5 years, lessons, varsity team)
Piano-(8 years, art supplement, jazz group, mostly for fun but still serious)
Football-(2 years, varsity team)
Environment club-(2 years, president, very involved)
Debate club-(2 years, MUN conference)
Robotics club-(co-founder, but couldn’t participate because I moved )

Awesome essays!

Thanks for reading people!!

chance me back please http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1391988-pleeeaseee-chance-me-engineering-i-will-chance-back.html

Considering your circumstances, your EC’s are good. The schools will see your situation and understand why it has been hard for you to work, etc. If you wanna go for ivies, your SAT IIs are great but you need to raise your SAT to at least a 2250-2300. Also try the ACT and if you get a 33+ you’ll be good. I don’t know how the IB program works so I can’t help you there, but they will love that you speak multiple languages. Try applying to Cornell, Brown, and Dartmouth as your ivies. You stand a decent chance, but you will be much better off at very selective LACs. They’re bigger on finding international students and they put less emphasis on test scores and more on EC’s, recs, essays, etc. Try Amherst, Bates, Hamilton, Colgate, Lafayette, Tufts, and Swarthmore. Good luck :)

thanks  yeah my school doesnt offer the ACT so im going to try and improve sat scores this fall.

people please answer me! need some advice here…
i’ll chance you back

randomdude1, I think you a have a very decent shot at some of the ivies(Brown, Cornell maybe Dartmouth) i mean your EC’s and awards are very impressive, retake your SAT reasoning test if you can so you can raise your chances and maybe get into a few of the more competitive ivies, i would also recommend you to consider some non-ivy schools(Emory, Notre Dame, Boston College), regarding LAC’s i think you should try Amherst, Swarthmore, Vassar. Thanks for the info btw. Good luck.

please chance me

I love LACs, and they really do give a high quality of education (williams has tutorials!!) I’m thinking of applying to one of them via regular decision.

your stats for sat ii’s are sure good. They do look more at your course load than sat scores. I’m pretty sure your experiences in these countries will be good essay fodder. Also, great extra curriculars-those are amazing achievements and definitely give you an edge-especially winning one of the top 5 awards at the math competition.
